Each month students should prepare an art project which they will share with the class in an oral presentation.  They will explain how their artistic representation ties to the book and how they made it. THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ARTISTIC REPRESENTATION - THIS IS TO REPRESENT THE STUDENT'S CREATIVITY AND PERSONAL RESPONSE TO THE BOOK.

Students must also prepare a written report in the following format:
*Make a booklet no larger that regular typing paper or construction paper.  It SHOULD be full size paper with a cover sheet or cover of some type.
*Draw or print a picture on the cover with the title and author of the book and on the bottom of the front put "Book Report by ____________".

*On the inside left page put the AR information about the book, or write "Not an AR book".

*On the inside right page, Write a SUMMARY that is AT LEAST 1/2  a full size sheet of paper in length  that answers "Who, what, where, when and why for the complete book".  Remember a summary includes all parts of the book, but NOT all the details - short version!

* On the next page of your mini book, you must write an RESPONSE paragraph that fills at least 1/2 a full size page and give your opinion of the book with examples that explain why you have that opinion.  You might also include information about who else would enjoy the book and why they would like it.

Student will give an oral presentation that explains WHAT you read,  HOW they made their art project, and WHY they chose that project to represent the book that they read.
